With over a hundred entries to date, the You Can Do This Project has brought hope, encouragement and support to the diabetes online community.
Because we are a grassroots movement, we have to rely on crowdfunding to support our outreach efforts.
In 2012 and 2013, we took the You Can Do This Project to conferences like Friends For Life and TCOYD, to reach people touched by diabetes.
So far, crowdfunding donations have provided:
- the table registration cost for FFL ’12 (July 3 – 8th, 2012 in Orlando, FL) [$450]
- the table registration cost for TCOYD – Des Moines (September 22nd, 2012 in Des Moines, IA) [$250]
- signage for conference tables [$237]
- the table registration cost for FFL ’13 [$450]
- the table registration cost for TCOYD – Omaha [$250]
We also secured a one-year Seeds grant from the Diabetes Hands Foundation for $2,000 to be used in 2012/2013, which helped us buy materials (like signage, flyers, and bracelets) for conference appearances.
Thank you for your continued support! This page will be updated as donated funds are allocated and spent, so that you always know where your money is going.
In the same way that just one of these videos can help multiple people, every dollar can add up to something big. No donation amount is too small.
Please note that the You Can Do This Project is NOT a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization at this time. You are donating to an individual with the good faith that I’ll do what I say I’m going to do.
